About the IWW

The INDUSTRIAL WORKERS OF THE WORLD is an all inclusive association, or union of ALL WORKERS. Regardless of occupation, race, gender, sexual orientation, national origen, or country of residence. We have union branches throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and other countries world-wide. Our famous motto: "An injury to one, is an injury to all" is as true today in the 21st century as it was over a hundred years ago. The basic definition of a "union" "Something you get done together, that you cannot get done alone!" is what the IWW is all about. We have no idealogical requirements, except to realize the fact that: "The employing class, and the working class, have nothing in common." Any worker is welcome, even if you are self-employed and/or classified by your employer as an 'independent contractor.' As long as you have no employees yourself, and you are not a member of a law enforcement oranization, you are welcome in the IWW as a 'Fellow Worker.' If you want better wages, benefits such as health insurance and pension, sick days, vacation, and a safe and respectful work-place, then you need to contact the IWW. |
